Mezcalera chair: a tilted cork bowl seat with a white cushion, resting on a woven rattan base

Traditionally, mezcal is served in a jícara—a vessel crafted from the dried gourd of the jícaro tree—resting upon a woven reed ring. The Mezcalera Chair was born from observing how this object, when gently tilted, adopts the natural silhouette of a chair. We translated this heritage, anchored in Mexican culture, into a contemporary design language using cork and rattan: organic, biodegradable materials that reinterpret the warmth of the original elements. Mezcal is not meant to be rushed; it is presence, pause, and connection. It is under this very principle that the Mezcalera Chair was conceived.
